What is being a stylist!? It's the Biggest question I get emailed. A wedding reception goes for 6 hours… having someone to design, curate and hustle it, to make it one fab moment in life, is so important. Styling is textures, height & frame in a space. The biggest thing I harp on about from my interior design background is working from the middle of the space and not the room perimeter. Pictures are easy to save and say (my wedding will look like that) but that's what a stylist is, otherwise it will look like a dress on a dodgy Asian web site that does not fit properly.
I am a luxe florist. Installations are everything. This is what I specialise in. Remember, hang it baby - keep it off the tables. Your guests don't go home and talk about a pretty centre piece, they talk about the cool hanging installation.
I hate to say it, because flowers are bloody expensive, but they change spaces and take them to the next level. when i was 17, working in scarborough, i would steal flowers from people's front yards because they were so beautiful. I will never tire from playing and looking at them.
other than floral installations, lighting is the most important part of creating drama in a room. Dimming areas and shining others is life. We install feature drop lights, epic chandeliers, feature mod lights, Edison’s, LED fairy lights, flood lights & my fav tassel bespoke pendants! These babies shake!
We install lighting in tables, installations, grazing stations, cake tables... basically any where that highlights features. It's all about creating epic moments. you want your guests to walk into a room and be instantly in the zone to have a crazy loved up night. The mood & vibe of the space sets the scene for guests to live it up.
We graze baby. Wine plus cheese is a good day! Look… honestly, after many wedding seasons I have just found people prefer grazers over canapés... and doing grazers is cheaper than canapés.
We have our grazing kit with boards, styling products and a variety of exquisite italian goods. luxe produce is key and having a grazing table gives your guests the option to eat at their leisure. From being a fly on the wall, when canapés are served, the staff keep walking around with lots of no's!!! Food for thought???
SUCESS IS NO ACCIDENT. IT IS HARD WORK, PERSEVERANCE, LEARNING, STUDY, SACRIFICE AND MOST OF ALL, LOVE OF WHAT YOU ARE DOING OR LEARNING TO DO.
